Welcome to Heather & Pine, your local hometown bookshop!

We are a woman-owned, pop-up bookshop in Lake Zurich, Illinois where we have lived/worked/raised our children for over twenty years, and we want to give back to the community that has shaped our lives by sharing our love of stories.

Amy is a published romance author and children's librarian. Heather is your resident expert on all things literary fiction and book club picks. Together, we've poured our love of all things bookish into realizing our dream. We're not brick and mortar yet, but with your support, we will be soon!

We source all the new books you can't wait to read and preloved books that are kinder to your wallet and to the environment. Whether you're helping spread the love or are the first to hold a new book in your hands, we are thrilled to be a part of your story. 

Books mirror our own experiences and identity and also provide windows through which we can view the perspective of others. Books make us curious, teach us empathy, and help us understand the world around us. But also, books are just plain fun to read, and we can't wait to share our favorite authors and stories with you.
